People today still sin and follow their own desires. However, God loves us no matter what we say or do; He desires us to be in fellowship with Him. He wants us to come back to Him when we do wrong, just like our parents desire this too. This has been His desire since the beginning and continues today.

Like the people of the old testament, we too struggle with sin in our lives and nation. God displays His desire to restore Israel and He wants to do the same today.

This is significant to us today because we continue to make bad choices. I believe we live to learn. Without redemption we would all be destine for an eternal life in hell. Sometimes we don’t realize at the time that what we are doing is wrong. Other times someone may not be in the right state of mind to do the right thing. We are very fortunate to have a Loving God that forgives us for the wrongs we have done.

Even as a christian, I still make mistakes, I still sin. And it’s comforting, and important, to know that no matter what I’ve done, God wants me to turn back to Him.

God is supreme. God was, is and always will be God the Father Almighty. As He dealt with the Old testament tribes and nations, so He is still, and always will deal with us, as a loving, forgiving compassionate Father. We are no different to the Old Testament folks.
