Because we are slao susceptibel to failure, and need to know that God is able and willing to forgive still. It also ressures us that God never changes.

It shows that God cares about us and as to our earthly fathers, when we messed up, we asked for forgiveness. Well our Heavenly Father is here in the good and bad as well, and just wants us to come boldly to the throne of grace and ask for forgiveness. He doesn’t want us to feel that we can’t come to him, no matter how bad it may be.

God created us in his image, for his loving creation, our history begins with him. In the beginning he created the Heavens, all living creatures and man. We are meant to commune with God. We were meant to live with God, fellowship with God, his people whom he desires to have a righteous relationship with. However, Adam and Eve introduced sin into the world which fracture our relationship with him. God still gives his people gives us an opportunity to seek forgiveness and to live a righteous live. God provides us with opportunities to seek forgiveness in order to maintain a healthy relationship with him.
