We take a course where we use Isaiah 45:18 and we look at all the specific ways God made the earth to be inhabited. Then we take a trip to through space and the other planets and why life is not supported on these plants; it could be temperature, gases, surfaces. Not only are they learning about the other planets but they are learning about the care God took when He created the earth. We also tie this back into how all of these factors, the habitability zone, all of these many, many factors could not all have occurred just as how/where they needed to by chance.

Often in our reading lessons, I have the students identify the fruits of the spirit that the characters are exhibiting in the story. I also try to take the bible concept for the week and integrate it into other lessons whether it is science or history.

In my history course we discuss the Italian Renaissance and Humanism, and the artists’ view of the relationship between God and man. It gives us opportunities to discuss this relationship, look at classical art, created by men who were gifted by God, and talk about how God uses man’s talents to bring him glory.

When teaching math to my second graders I like to always help them see God loves numbers. I point out different numbers used in Scripture -examples of 7, 3, 40 – and apply the meanings of those numbers whenever we see them. God is a God of order so I use that as we count numbers in order. When we are measuring I explain that there are certain facts that will never change – 3 feet will always equal 1 yard – and I allow that to lead me into an understanding that God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. These are just a few examples of things I have done in course.

An interactive lesson interacts the student with the content and God’s word.
In a logic lesson discussing the ad hominem fallacy, I can draw the students to scripture about how we are to treat our neighbors. I can also show them what kind of words that we should use when speaking to another person. I can show them verse upon verse about gossip and how we are to think of others.
