When teaching middle school Bible I often find that using a Think, Pair and Share method is most helpful. When finishing a lesson I try to pose a problem or question. I then have students pair up to form an answer or conclusion from what they have learned from scripture. I find if I revisit this topic months down the road they are able to quickly respond with truth and conviction.

In Calculus, one of the BIG ideas is the accumulation of change. In teaching this, I can incorporate the concept that some people are seeking to accumulate treasures on earth; however, we should be seeking to accumulate them in heaven.

Using ‘career in art’ as a topic for interactive lesson based on a Christian philosophy of education. We have different career in art just as the different gifts. I will now ask my students this question, What do you want to be when you graduate from collage? They will give different professions as answers, then I will now ask volunteer to read 1 Corinthians 12 :4-12. Since I am teaching art, our focus will be to look at the different career in art using the 1 Corinthians passage. I will then ask my students to think about this and write down any of the art career that is not a gift from God on a piece of paper.
Another question will be, how can you use your career to glorify God?

In my Freshman Bible course we cover biblical theology with one of the first things we cover is the fall of man and how that plays a role in the whole story of the Bible. After we cover the lessons on the fall of man I break the course up into three groups. We put Adam, Eve, and the serpent on trial and each group has to send a representative for their selected person to give a defense for why they are not at fault. This gets the students thinking about there is no good defense and we finish the course with me explaining there is no good defense we can give for our sin either and this is why we need Christ.

When we study measurements in math, I usually incorporate a baking/cooking lesson. I explain that just as cookies are made with different ingredients that taste different, God made each of us different with different talents and gifts. If a cookie was just made of flour, it would not taste very good. If God made all of us the same the world would be a pretty boring place. He gives us different strengths and weaknesses so we can work together and create something sweet and good. Just like when we mix all the ingredients of the cookies they end up being much better than if we only used 1 ingredient.
