Deleted User08/06/2021 at 20:55At the beginning of the school year, we read about about a pencil and an eraser and talk about making mistakes and how to it them. We bring in the idea that small mistakes (on paper) can be taken care of with classroom tools, like an eraser. Then make the connection to how do we take care of our mistakes when we make them with our words, actions, etc.

Deleted User08/03/2021 at 15:03I teach theology. In my theology course, I try to identify one key passage that is central to the doctrine in question. Then, together as a course, we will work through exegesis of that passage to arrive at a theological understanding that will serve as the foundation for the doctrine we are considering. Rather than me simply telling the students the doctrine of X is Y, students are able to discern and discover the doctrine in the biblical text.

Deleted User08/03/2021 at 14:29Students use their reading selection for the week and find characteristics about the main character that would point to the fruits of the Spirit or not point to the fruits and reflect.

Deleted User07/30/2021 at 16:40Students have to reflect on the economic system in the United States. They also need to look for information in the Bible that tell us what God says we should do in terms of economics and finance. Students have to discuss the disconnect and try to reconcile it.

Deleted User07/23/2021 at 13:12During social science on bullying, I put various scriptures on the board and the students picked which scriptures would help deter bullying behavior and why? Then they had to come up with one more scripture from one of the gospels that we had read and tell why they picked it.
