Parents are looking at and learning the Biblical curriculum as much as the students are! Knowing this, I will send home communication to the students knowing full well the parents are looking at it. I do not try to hide anything I teach from them. Many of the parents are unbelievers and this may be the only way they receive the truth of God’s words.

In my courses I will include the parents by helping their kids to create a family tree, to research their family history so the students can create a presentation of their family history.

I would have a course that included all the parents and have them do a fun essay on and about themselves including what they like to do with their time and their talents. I would read them and give them a chance to bring their talents to the course room. Have the children do a essay and then bring the children and parents together and let the students read their parents essay and let the parents read their Childs essay.

I am hoping to paint murals in the staircase hallways of each floor of our building – the bottom would be underground, the next floor up would be the sea, the next floor up would be the earth’s surface and the 4th floor would be the heavens! What a great opportunity to involve parents!

Rather than just assigning parents tasks that I need done, first asking what their interests are and scheduling in meaningful volunteer time that they can do.
