For instance, if a child has a policeman as a parent I would ask him to come and speak about his job and how to follow the laws. Also, I would have parents come in and read Christian stories to the course.

One example is when you know what your parent’s interests are and there is a lesson that connects to their interest and if they are willing to come in and share with the course. This would help the students see the life skills and the reason why they are learning these topics.

Allow parents to come in share what they do for a living, in particular if they are math related.

It would be great to have parents with artistic talents share those in my Art Class. This would be especially true if they have a skill set in a particular area such as computer graphics or ceramics or a particular painting style. Their expertise would be welcomed.

In our school we partner with parents very often. In my elementary art classroom I had had parents coming and help with
big art projects use their skills to help around all the young kids. I think it is a blessing from God to have such a great help and to see
how parents can enjoy helping and getting messy too just like kids.
For the high school I had parents to help with Spanish activities, field trips and fiesta and so on…
I think parents are always happy to offer their help, talent, and skills
