Having parents who can come and provide information on whatever subject matter we are studying would be one way. Last week one of the parents who owns a karate studio came and gave a presentation on bullying to the entire school using parents special gifts in this way can benefit the entire school community.

I could have parents get involved in helping my debate team. They could come and judge practice debates so that students can learn from a variety of different people how they saw the round. This helps because they need to be familiar with judges of differing backgrounds.

One of my favorite ways to use parents skill sets is their gifting with crafts or games. I love to have them come in for special occasions to bond with the students.

I have some parents that are musical. Therefore I invite them to play concerts with the students or help coach and teach lessons for our students.
