I think this means that nothing the other person shares is beyond God in his grace being able to handle. I will not have the wisdom to know what to do with what is shared but believing that the Holy Spirit is at work I can go ahead and show the kind of curiosity that will encourage the other person to share their personal journey with me. Then seek the vision that the Holy Spirit has for this person.

If I truly believe this statement then I will believe that when I enter a conversation with the Sprits lead, I can enter that conversation not alone, not with my own limited resources or knowledge or ability, but through the humility of my own inadequacies, The Holy Spirt can more through me to touch another’s soul at it’s the deepest level; and trust that as an image-bearer who has the capacities for desire, to perceive, volition and to feel; The Holy Spirt will speak to me supernaturally to that other person. Grace fills in the inadequacies of my soul by the Spirit.

Curiosity will never uncover what grace cannot handle helps us to go where we would be afraid to go when otherwise exposing the situation would make life more negative and bring unresolved shame and condemnation. Grace brings hope, healing, restoration, and resurrection.

God knows everything about their life and reality; and God can redeem anything. If we walk in alone with our own strength and wisdom, yes we probably cannot handle it. But we have The Holy Spirit living in us, and because of Him, we have everything we need. Therefore, we have nothing to be afraid of, because nothing is too big for God, and nothing cannot be redeemed by Him.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Cor 10:13
It begins with our curiosity with God who says he will not leave me to handle things beyond my ability. His grace is sufficient for me when I am insufficient.
If I am adequate – relying on my own strength and resourcefulness, then there is no need to be curious about God, nor the other person who is made in the image of God.
What would free me to be a more curious person is to look at God, who is able to do exceedingly more than I can perceive…
What would free me is knowing that God is cares to restore the person to Himself, more than I do.
Being curious about the person, is not for about “accumulating my knowledge,” it is knowing and seeing what God is doing in the other person’s life.
