Reflect on the sentence: Curiosity will never uncover what grace cannot handle. Discuss how believing that truth could free you to become a more curious person.

One hindrance to curiosity in other people’s life is the fear that when people share their deep struggles with me, I am inadequate to handle it, and I mess up their lives or not being a help but more of a hurt to them. However, when I believe the truth that God’s grace is able to equip me sufficiently, then that gives me the freedom and faith/ confidence to show my concern for them. Not only will God give me the grace to help that individual, but also by allowing myself to be used by God, God can also change my life to be more like him.

Sometimes we are afraid to ask more about a person’s inner life, in case we find dark things we aren’t able to deal with. I believe the lecture is not exalting idle curiosity, but telling us to probe with dependence on and guidance from the Holy Spirit. In that case, the Spirit will release grace gifts like the gift of knowledge or gift of wisdom to help us help the person. Armed with this truth, we need not be afraid to be curious in a loving way.

This is such a profound statement and profound truth. Having fear of whatI might discover about another person or even realize about myself is not so frightening as I realize that God’s Grace can and will cover me and all those who put their trust in Him. Knowing that no discovery is too hard for the Grace of God to handle, frees me to move into that unknown territory.

God deeply desires to touch our interior world with His truth and glory so that we enter freedom and rest in Christ and rightly reflect Him (image-bearers) to the world around us as we deeply relate with others. He will give grace in our time of need as we are curious in our relationships with others – we won’t have to back away from another’s journeying reality – and hopefully, by the grace of God, they won’t from ours.

from the beginning of these lessons – we’ve been reminded that we are not the force here – we must cooperate w the Spirit – it is His Work – that is where Grace operates – Grace is capable of any and everything – we are not here to fix anything – we must move into the unknown where the curiosity lies and we must trust the Spirit w all of this
