If we only address and focus on the presenting problem, it’s treating the symptom of what is *really* the cause of the problem—it’s looking at the stuff above the waterline. The process of reframing from the presenting problem to the deeper issue of relationships will allow the Spirit of God to work, to flow, to TRULY heal. Another way to put that is that until the deeper issue of relationships (all relationships) is explored, the presenting problems will continue to exist– until the root of the “weed” is pulled up, it will continue to send out more weeds. It’s treating the infection, rather than just putting a bandage on it.

Reframing helps to shift to the real story of the Soul.
From applying this, I met a woman who was about to leave her home because the husband was not looking after her well. She was suspecting him of cheating.
I ask her about the condition of relationship with her family, and with God.
Her relationship with the family was great. And she discovered she needed God more than anything. -
This shift is important because it leads us to the story of a soul which we have to know to provide effective soulcare with vision

This shift moves to the story of the soul.
Listening to the story of the soul brings hope because I have been listening and thinking vision. -
It allows the conversation to move forward and helps the person to see the problem within the context of a bigger picture. It also creates opportunities to bring a spiritual component to the discussion.
