The reframing shift is important because it leads to revealing the specific battle in the soul and pinpoints what the person is struggling with in their relationships. This has previously been a mystery to the person in the larger story of their life. Once reframing happens because of caring, curious questioning, the SoulCare provider can have hope of leading the person into a deeper relationship with God which can change their perspective and ultimately resolve the presenting problem also.

This is important so as not to primarily focus on the issue intently. Whereas asking these reframing questions helps us to go deeper than the issue, when we go deep enough we can touch their soul.

This shift is important to build trust between you and your friend that you really care for and that you want to help get to the root cause of why he/she has this problem. It’s kind of like having a flat tire on your car. There is a reason why the tire went flat. Curiosity leads you to discover that a roofing nail left in your driveway from a recent roof repair is the reason the tire is flat. The tire is not the issue. The nail is.

if we step away and allow the Lord to work in our lives, things will get better.

Sometimes we can get so caught up in the problem we just like to rehash it, ver and over again. this really accomplishes nothing. Maybe we feel sorrier and sorrier for ourself but nothing changes. Once we start to thinkabout the “whys” of the situation and then add the “God” factor, we allow the Spirit to work. And that is what is important – for God to work in a person’s life.
