It’s important because it allows us to look beyond just the problem, and to look into the soul. People revolve around relationships with others and with God. These can shape what life looks like and how the soul feels and responds to life’s events. They can also be affected by life’s events. How a person treats their relationships can reveal what is really going on in their soul too.

Reframing is important as it allows the the SoulCarer to move into and discover the persons soul.

It is important not to treat the symptom. In healthcare, it is vital to not only treat symtpoms, but to find why these symptoms exist since if you don’t, the problem is just buried, not gone. From a soulcare standpoint, addressing the symptom does nothing to help the person inside. It might help them be more socially acceptable, but it won’t help them in their journey with God and their need for spiritual health.

The presenting problem is only the current issue and represents a larger life and story. When reframing happens, the presenting problem is addressed, but in the context of the larger conversation about relationships. That shift encourages real, true change, with the Spirit leading the charge.
