The shift to relationships is imporant because as they tell the presenting problem there will come a point of confusion, and it is a place where we can then enter into their soul and ask about the current relationship and how the other person responds in this scenario; then possibly asking how it relates to prior relationships, possibly in childhood, and the similarities ; building to how I am then feeling in this moment as a curious “friend” who wants to understand, and then asking about God in relation to this area. It opens up the person to see simalarities and maybe how they have even left God out of the equation, and they have an ah ha moment that is so precious to see.

The presenting problem is just a small peek into the deeper issue of the soul. When reframing questions, it helps the other person “open the door” for the Holy Spirit to enter into a person’s life and work on the deeper issues that cause the trivial presenting problem. We are not there to cover the presenting problem with a “bandaid” but to get to the root of why so the person can receive the Spirit’s truth – not mine.

Because it’s important to get to the heart of the matter to reach the core of your soul. What’s going on? What’s wrong? In order to move toward relationship with God, bettering your relationship with yourself and others.

The reframing shift is important because it leads to the “story of the soul” and a conversation leading to the person’s relationship with God. These are two points can lead to a pivotal, lasting and powerful change in a person’s life for the better.
