(1st Corinthians Unit) One of the issues Paul raises when addressing these Christians is the resurrection of Jesus. He wants to remind them of the importance of the resurrection, and how it changes everything; from how we relate to God to how we live our daily lives. Its the second portion that Paul really wants to emphasize: the resurrection of Jesus should change how we live our everyday lives. We will spend time addressing this idea not only as we individually respond to the Gospel, but also as it is the basis for true faith.

In science course we discuss the worldview of a lesson and then discuss what the bible says about that particular topic. There is definitely room for improvement. I will be creating biblically integrated assessments. No one has ever showed me how to do that before.

For the language classroom, we plan on teaching the students all of the Roman’s Road verses in Spanish as well as basic biblical vocabulary that the students can use on missions trips.

As the librarian, I have the elementary students for brief lessons and a time for checking out books. My lessons vary from 20-30 minutes and always include biblical integration. An example is when we read various tall tales and learn about their characteristics. One of them is that, similar to mythology, they often give explanations for how a familiar landmark or landform has been created. We discuss creation and watch a well done video on intelligent design. One of the examples of intelligent design is that we would never believe that the 4 presidents on Mount Rushmore were created over the years by erosion. No, there was a creator of the design and a skilled artist who followed the design to complete the sculpture. This was not a random occurrence just like the creation of our intricate universe would not have happened without a creator.

This year I assigned in one of my science courses for students to write a persuasive paper for or against genetic engineering, human cloning, or stem cell transplants (they had their choice of the topic). They had to support their view with Scripture but could utilize research articles as well. It went well for this being my first time giving this assignment and several students had good arguments, but I need to create a better rubric and put more planning and thought into what is expected for next year.
