I have a cultural lesson that I enjoy teaching in the beginning of my Spanish 2 course. We learn about the advantages of learning a second language. I point of the obvious reasons and then I ask them why did God create so many languages? How can we use Spanish to Honor him? How do I love my neighbors or people with different ethnic backgrounds? We have a great discussions, and I learn more about my students. Thanks to those discussions I can create different goals and have fresh ideas for new biblical integrations based on their needs.

In my algebra 2 course, I plan to use the fact that God is a God of order, when teaching sequences. I will have the students begin with identifying “order” in God’s creation; and explain why it exists. I will then make the parallel to arithmetic and geometric sequences, and why the next values are what they are – why they are the “order” that they are.

Well after completing this lesson. It looks like I may have some work to do. I usually ask my students biblical questions throughout the lesson. This is an area that I would like to improve on in the coming year.

Recently, I was teaching science and our ocean unit describes the fact that God made the boundaries of the oceans. I integrated this lesson with our math unit and perimeter and area. I came up with an essential question that said, “Is the concept of boundaries and perimeter meant for safety or isolation?”

Still working on it. I am working on a poetry unit focused on elegies and death. I want to include some psalms for BWI
