Share one or two Bible-study techniques you find most helpful.

Making large cookies and letting the children add their own favorite bible verse and letting them read it out loud to the course time moment. Everyone will get a chance to show off their unique cookie’s.
Taking jar covers and letting them paint them their favorite color or colors and have little cards with a bible verse on it and let them glue it to the middle of the cover. They can use the covers as cup holders and when they are done. They can turn the covers back over and see the bible verse. -
Annotating the Scriptures is helpful to me.

I find it most helpful to learn the Bible in a bible study group and daily devotions. I have learned so much through my bible study groups because when I don’t understand something, someone else can explain it to me in a way that makes sense. Then I get more out of the study.

I read passages from the various styles in the Old and New Testament. This includes something from the Psalms, from the OT prophets, from the Pentateuch, from the gospels and from the epistles. I usually read straight through the book or letter. Also, if a verse jumps out at me, I will look at other Scriptures related to that topic for a fuller perspective.

I love to use Bible study booklets and then take the passage of Scripture I am reading to highlight important truths the Lord is showing me. I do this with gel highlighters, different colored pens, circles or boxes, etc. to help me really draw deeply into what the Lord is teaching. I also have Bible concordances, commentaries, and maps to help further my study in each area.
