I have studied the Bible in Bible College, church, and as I teach it. But, as I have taught Children’s Church for over 30 years, I have to say that I have really learned the most details about the Bible while preparing to teach. This can apply to teaching Bible in a Christian school. If you study a story from the Bible well enough, in the context in was written, to break it down to retell it to children, it is the best way I have personally found to learn the Bible.

3 x 5 index cards work great. The verse reference on one side, with the wording of the verse on the other.

I enjoy the Bible Project classroom and also studies by Beth Moore.

I love to sing melodies with scripture as I memorize it. I also like to apply visualization to each line I memorize.

When taking notes during God’s message through His chosen servant on the Lord’s Day in the assembly of the saints, underline or star key concepts and passages to study the next day. This is a good way to springboard into meaningful study based on what God wanted you to meditate on and consider in the assembly.
