I’m reminded of the importance of not just tagging a Bible verse onto my art lessons, but to integrate Biblical truth fully into my lessons. I’ve neglected praying with my students at the start of course and plan to start each course with a prayer thanking God for the beauty in the world around us and for making us in His image to be creative. We will look for the Good, Beautiful, and True in all the artwork we study.

This course helped me realize the importance of nurture in the classroom. I teach freshman girls, and sometimes it’s easy to forget that even though they are not “little kids”, they still need nurturing, and love in a classroom environment.

Through this course, I am have become more motivated to connect my courses through careful planning. As mentioned in an earlier lesson, I want my science course and Bible course to pour into each other. I want to hear big questions and work with students in finding Biblical responses. Additionally, I want to do better job this coming year with mentoring my students. As a teacher, I could have lunch with a few students per week and as an assistant coach, I can find time during our runs to listen and provide godly advice.

I learned the importance of scope and sequence as it relates to Biblical Integration. I want to focus on the timing of the Biblical integration in my curriculum, as it relates to not only Physical Education, but as it relates to athletics overall.
