A Christian Philosophy of education goes so much further than the subject matter. I teach math, which initially seems challenging to incorporate a Christian philosophy interwoven into the daily lessons.. but it is vital that I do this!! I MUST view each and every day’s lesson as an opportunity to instill in my students the urgency of understanding why they are created and the importance of claiming a Christian philosophy for their own lives. We live in an everchanging world, and it is only going to get more challenging for our students. I MUST be the Bible that they read each day. This generation of Christian schools and those to follow, are counting on its teachers to not just teach education, but teach a Christian education. I have been challenged and am excited to incorporate what I have learned into my daily lessons.

I will make more efforts to integrate scripture into our classroom lessons and daily discussions, by starting with a biblical integration approach during the planning stages of my lesson plans. I will be more intentional about my role as a mentor in passing down God’s truth, equipping my students to defend their faith, and encouraging them in their own walk with the Lord.

I also want to change some things in how I create a nurturing environment, making time at the beginning and ending of courses to greet my students meaningfully and to debrief. I also want to be more cognizant of Biblical worldview integration in each lesson and providing processing activities in lessons based on Biblical worldview concepts.
