Share one or two things you learned in this course that will change your approach in the classroom.

Understanding that I have a calling from God to be an educator changes how I approach my work. My service at my school is divinely purposed and entrusted to me by God. As such, I will be more intentional about integrating my biblical Christian worldview into my teaching and interacting with the school community. This might mean taking extra time to prepare lessons, being more patient with challenging students, and with parents. Ultimately, I should serve as a Godly influence in the students’ lives, helping them grow and develop into the people God has called them to be.

Having taught Spanish for more than 20 years, I am now blessed with the opportunity next year to integrate Scripture and emphasis missions trips and serving the community. I also plan on sharing my story more with my students in the hopes of encouraging them to see Christ as a father and a savior for them, not just other people.

I will be sharing ideas and resources on how to ensure that our curriculum in all subject areas are aligned with the word of God. Seek opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Continue to pray about the challenges that we face and christain schools and the world.

My philosophy matters and that I need to make sure that it is rooted in a biblical worldview.

One of the things I will strive to do more frequently is share portions of my story. I have not always been in Education, so sharing how God moved me into teaching out of vocational ministry is part of showing His glory and goodness. I will also look at changes as opportunities. Schools are constantly changing and you can view that as a positive or a negative, a drawback or opportunity. I will do a better job of viewing those changes as opportunities.
