I loved the reminder that as educators we are building and mentoring disciples for Jesus. Next year, I really hope to have my students put on a luncheon for widows in our community. What a wonderful way to show kids it’s not always about them. That we are called by Jesus to serve not just our friends, but also those in our community around us.

There are a few things that I have taken from this course one is that we as Christian teachers we need to pass our philosophy down so that no matter what the time spring we can know what God is leading us to doIn our classrooms and in our schools. I also feel that it is very important to teach our students that the enemy is out there but we need to stand up and know him so that we do not fall into temptation from what we have been taught.

I learned how to better integrate a Bible worldview into my classroom.

Although worldview and epistemology are already ideas that I address in my classroom, the emphasis on metaphysics, epistemology, and axiology as foundations for a Christian worldview helped me to think about these ideas in a more organized manner. I’d like to be more systematic in thinking through these areas in planning instruction.

Clearly understanding how the philosophical underpinnings of my faith are reflected in my teaching makes it more imperative that I get my Biblical integration right. I can also share that philosophy with my older students to open the discussion and encourage them to explore basic philosophy and worldviews with them. Honesty and integrity in my faith is the most important tool I have and I must keep it sharp. I also have a clearer understanding as to the role I play as a prayer warrior, mentor, and teacher in their critical thinking and their understanding.
