Focus more on relationships than I have been. Discipleship is as important as my math lesson.

Some things that have been integrated in the past years’ classes, like personal responses, should be utilized more frequently to focus on application of the Scripture and to strengthen the skill of digging into and using Truth with greater ease.

This course has shown me just how important my educational philosophy is and how my worldview can impact my students. It has shown me that I can sculpt my students to be strong Christians in many more ways than a prayer or a Bible lesson but that I can infuse a Christian worldview into every interaction of the day.

In taking this course, it has reminded me of the importance of a personal testimony and to share with the students how God has worked in my life. Because I came to know the Lord as a 20year old, I remember who I was in my BC days and how selfish and horrible I was with other people. In coming to know Christ, He completely changed my heart towards people and gave me the love of serving others. I wouldn’t be a teacher if the Lord had not changed my heart. Also, it’s important to give time for student to share struggles they are having and put aside the academics to truly listen. It’s important to create an atmosphere that is safe for students to share and encourage each other in their faith.

Interacting between content, student, bible, and teacher in all lessons is something I will work to implement in more holistic ways.
