During our novel studies, I try to make connections between the characters and events in the story to the God’s word. Does this scene remind you of a story from the Bible? What fruits of the spirit is this character demonstrating? Then I also make those connections within our lives. What are some ways we can demonstrate that fruit of the spirit in our lives? What does the Bible tell us we should do in a situation like this?

My curriculum has a biblical worldview in the scope and sequence. It does a great job helping me to extend open communication with the students. It makes them really use their critical thinking skills.

I will often pull scripture or point to a Biblical worldview in my lessons. Also when we watch secular videos we will discuss how what they believe and what we believe differ. We will open scripture to look at what God’s word has to say about different things we are learning.

I try to find a scripture verse that is related to the lesson, write it up on the board, and open up a discussion that connects our topic to God’s Word. I make sure to give all students the time to speak, ask questions, reflect, and comment.

Always looking back to God’s word, allowing for differences of interpretation, but ensuring we discuss. Making lessons interactive. Need to work on allowing for processing time.
