Share one or two ways you embed biblical principles in your lessons. If you don’t already do so, describe how a teacher you know does it.

In both of my teaching experiences (Christian Educator and Public School Educator), I embed the Fruit of the Spirit into my lessons and classroom. As role models, we have to not only model accountability for our choices and actions, but help them hold each other responsible for their choices and actions. Are we acting in a loving way towards others? What does the Bible say we should do when someone is impatient or joyless or lacks peace? It goes along with teaching right from the beginning of the year the type of classroom climate you want as it relates to how Jesus both approached, treated and demonstrated these elements. Think about Jesus in his humanness here on earth. His ability to be tempted but not yield to the temptation (self-control – yes , He is God and sinless but experienced what we would, so that he could teach us what to do).

I use scripture and Biblical application in the area of science almost every day. We recently discussed eugenics and looked at it from a Biblical perspective and how should a Christian respond to morally questionable activities.

When students ask questions that I know has a biblical answer, I usually ask them a question back to get them thinking and draw their own conclusion as it relates to God’s word. The other day a child asked me what came first, the chicken or the egg? It gave a great opportunity to refer back to the biblical principles of creation and ask probing questions.

Science is one of my favorite subjects to hit on biblical principles as there are so many ways to show Gods power and design.

I try to tie thing back to our daily devotion or the Character traits of our Bible hero.
