For example, someone recently asked if someone is born gay, how can they change? I shared a testimony of a male family member who grew up with that lifestyle, came to Christ, and began to be attracted to ONE woman. Even he was shocked, but God was changing him from the inside out. He has now been happily married to a woman for nearly 15 years. You can always love someone and pray for those who oppose you, but they can not really argue with a testimony of a transformed life.

He agreed that the way that I explained my view could be correct. I was called in to the office of the head of the religion department so that he could try to belittle me and make me feel as if my belief in inerrancy was outdated, unscholarly, ridiculous. I held my ground although he tried his best to wrest the Truth out of my mind and heart.

Since this person was close to me, I chose to continue to love them and encourage them to go back to a relationship that honors God but I also understand that is something only God can do and I can only support and guide when she is ready to receive that understanding.
