Deleted User07/21/2021 at 16:46I taught for 26 years in the public school system and decided to retire. The first year out of retirement, I started subbing in the public school system, but then also applied to sub at the Christian school that I am teaching at now.

Touching on the basics of wanting my children in Christian education, and wanting to teach/work with other Christians and to be able to share Christ with students is a goal of mine to share.

Teaching 15 years in public school; 15 years in financial services; then searching for the next job and always trying to spend as much time as possible with my family. Now my daughter attends the Christian school, so I see her every day and we have awesome conversations. My wife teaches at the Christian School so we spend a lot of time together but yet have the opportunity to work with different groups of teachers. Together but separate – it’s an awesome opportunity. And of course serving God by serving out students.

Once I got pregnant with our oldest, I became more keenly aware of the conflicting ideas my children would face. I knew I wanted my own children to know God’s truth. Fast-forward a few years later, and while working to supplement our income, I was blessed to also be able to volunteer at my child’s school. Being there all of the time encouraged me to look more deeply into teaching, and I eventually student-taught, earning my teaching certificate. Recognizing how far away schools have drifted from God, I have sought the Lord’s will in how I can serve Him while my children are also getting a Christian education. It is a blessing to be able to teach not just for work’s sake, but in a way that I can also serve the Lord. I’ve only come to this point with lots of prayer and seeking God’s will.

Deleted User07/15/2021 at 16:27I have always had a knack for working with kids. I have served for years in Children’s Ministries and have 4 children of my own. I did’t actually think I wanted to be a teacher but time and time again I found myself using my God given artistic talent in teaching in ministry. I actually have a degree in Marketing and Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. Then when it looked like it would become economically unfeasible to send my youngest two kids to Valley I started to pray for a position at Valley to help with the expense. I am qualified for many things but God once again provided a position in the field where my God given talents can best be used and it has been a lot of fun.
