I have shared with my students that I knew immediately that I could only teach in a Christian school because there was no way that I could know the ANSWER to the students’ problems, without pointing them to Jesus and/or praying with them. Part of Christian education that I enjoy is teaching God’s word so that the next generation has opportunity to be prepared spiritually for what is to come.

Deleted User07/01/2024 at 18:27I had been a stay-at-home mom for years raising my son and daughter. When my daughter went to Kindergarten, I began substitute teaching in the local public school where my children attended. Two years ago, I saw a message for an immediate need for a part-time math teacher at the church where I attend church services. The church building houses both the church and the Academy. The school year had already began and the teacher that was supposed to take the position back out at the very last minute. I interviewed, was offered a full-time position instead of a part-time position, and began teaching all within just a couple of days. It was a blessing and I have loved being a part of this community. I have shared my story with my students and parents. I hope that I am able to bless them as much as they have blessed me.

Deleted User06/24/2024 at 16:12I previously taught in the public school as an undercover Christian Educator (and Young Life leader). And loved it. Now that my kids are older and we have moved on from homeschooling we felt that our local Christian School would be the best option for them. So I joined them there as there was a need for a math teacher. Now I don’t have to work undercover (which I have needed to adjust to) and amd loving the new season of our lives.

Deleted User06/24/2024 at 12:48My immediate past (the last 4 years) has been challenging and sad. We laid my wonderful mother to rest, whom we had been taking care of 24/7 in her home. I had been teaching part-time at a local college those years. When caretaking duties for her were over, the epidemic began raging, which forced the college to stop some programs. The program in which I was teaching closed indefinitely. My brother, who had been a valuable support for my son and I, moved states away. One of our beloved pets died. All of these things happened within one year. My son and I were left alone to take care of my father and his home as well as our own while going through deep grief. On top of all that I found myself without a job. After searching and applying and trying out all of my network, I came up with nothing. Then a teaching colleague from the college program that had closed gave me a call “out of the blue” and asked me to apply at the Christian school where I now teach. God clearly wanted me there, and I followed His direction. It is a blessing to know you are on the path that God has prepared for you to walk.

Deleted User06/14/2024 at 13:13I share with my students that I also went to a Christian school like where I teach. I tell them how much it has helped me throughout life to have the strong understanding of the Bible as I went to public high school and as an adult.
