When there was no structure at this school, I looked for other school to apply to and found my current one. Being at a Christian school anchors me in my faith and allows me to feel that I can provide honest, meaningful answers and support for students experiencing difficulties.

I was hired, and then my daughter, who was in 4th grade at the time, in public school, came to me and said she wanted to go to a school where “she could talk about God.” I am still at this school teaching, and my daughter is a senior at the same school, getting ready to graduate this year! I have shared this story many times.

Deleted User08/19/2023 at 22:14I was educated in public school where I got a secular education, and went to church, youth group, and small group where I was taught biblical truths. These were in contrast with each other, but with some special sessions and guest speakers at my church I was given the tools to defend my faith. As I developed into becoming an educator I wanted to be, and thought myself strong enough to be a Christian teacher in a public school. I applied to many positions and districts in my local area, to no results. Now I had already been nudged and prodded by people in my church that maybe I should look at or try a Christian school for employment. I was stuck in my thinking, no I wanted to work at a public school. But God had closed those doors. So I started looking into this school I was being told about, read their mission statement and thought how did I not know about them… It was a quick and easy decision to apply there. Yes the pay is not as grand and we don’t have all our own facilities, but the mission we are accomplishing about making disciples and I can speak freely about God has been freeing and a mind shift from where I was thinking I was going to have to teach. Now I find myself for the moment where God has placed me to do His work for His children, and I am joyful to do it!

Deleted User03/27/2023 at 12:27I have worked at multiple Christian/non-Christian schools. I truely appreciate the ability to share the gospel, work with other Christians, and work with families to help raise their children in a Christian environment. This is why I have chosen to work in a Christian school.
