I completely agree! After completing both Soul Care certificates genuie relating is essential for us as people. Everyone needs to know they matter and why, (because we are image bearers and God loves us all) I have been in small groups where every person remains superficial and there was no relationship built. People want and need to be known. As image bearers we long for and need the same relationship as the Trinity. Techniques are meant to fix thing, make them better. Soul Care opens uf a desire for God and that is the only thing that will fill the hole created by sin.

God wants us to have relationship with Him. He cares for our souls, and He wants us to be relational with others as well in terms of our soul care as well as the soul care of others. Am I my brother’s keeper? Genesis 4:9. Yes we are.

I agree. I believe the Holy Spirit can bring techniques to mind that will help you develop a relationship with the person because I believe He can use anything to do His work. It to rely on technique instead of the Holy Spirit will only result in mechanical answers and just scratching the surface of what is going on in their life and you won’t have the discernment or guidance that He gives when we let Him work.

Soul care is not about a good technique. Too often we seek out ‘good’ techniques to areas of life such as a new weight loss program, or workout routine or the next healing potion that will resolve our health issues only to find out they don’t work. SoulCare is not about this ‘go to quick fix’ solutions to our relationships but rather is offering a deeper genuine relating to others and God only through the power of the Holy Spirit in us and through us..

Yes, I agree. You relate with the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, letting Him use you for His Glory.
