SoulCare is not about good technique; it is about genuine relating. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your answer.

I agree that, although techniques may help, SoulCare at its core is about offering a certain kind of genuine relationship that moves the person towards a vision of drawing near to God. For that matter, even God became flesh in Jesus, so that he may live and move among men. His relationships with men moved men towards God.

I agree. SoulCare is not about technique, because we are image-bearers of God. We serve a relational God of the Trinity. God created us to be in loving relationship first with Him first and then with one another. We cannot reach the interior story of the soul without genuine relating. We will remain at the exterior story that does not have the Spirit in the story. Techniques only touch the story of the soul without the Spirit. SoulCare should touch the interior story of the soul where the Spirit of God resides.

SoulCare isn’t about learning techniques to make a person’s life perfected, but Is All about being led by the HolySpirit into the core of the being and being given a desire and thirst for God that says life isn’t about some solving of all problems but is about living it to best of your strength and allowing GOD to correct the Mess through his sovereign’s power to restore us from our fallen position due to sin.

I agree that SoulCare is not a good technique. It is not a technique at all. There are manuals for technique-based systems. There is not a manual for SoulCare and there couldn’t be a manual for SoulCare, as true SoulCare depends upon reliance on the Holy Spirit.
When we genuinely relate to a person, we listen to what the Spirit says to us as we venture with caring curiosity into their soul story. We probe where he prompts us to probe. We develop a vision for the person from what the Spirit teaches us about the person. Each person’s journey is unique in one way, yet the same in that it always involves sin and foolishness. There can be no lineal system of techniques for this process, because of our uniqueness, and that is why genuine relating is pivotal.

Agree: techniques are self dependent, education dependent, emotionally driven. Genuine relating is dependent upon the strength and wisdom of the Spirit, in order to release the Life.
