I am in agreement that SoulCare is not about good techniques; but about genuinely relating. Within the core of our being, we bear the image of God. Things went terribly wrong in the garden when Adam sinned by disobeying God. A sinful nature became alive in man that is contrary to God and His purpose/design for our life. What has gone wrong inside of man cannot be fixed by techniques. There must be a transformation of heart, a change in direction that can only be experienced by the supernatural power of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This is brought forth through relationship, not step one followed by step two.

I agree. It is entering into the relationship of journeying together with my friend who shares his burden, whose problem can only be solved once God is the most treasured entity (that he really enjoys) in his life.

Agree……. There can not be a technique that would work for every single person. we are so different in how we feel about things, perceive, relate, what we desire ect. The only one that coukls know an exact strategy or technique that would 100% work is God because he knows more about us then we could ever know about ourselves. It is our job to relate as image bearers and be used by God to touch ones soul.

SoulCare is not about techniques. It is about listening and being curious about what is going on the other person’s soul and wondering about what God is wanting do there.

I agree. The steps we have been hearing – looking inside ourselves, being curious, coming to the end of ourselves and depending on the Spirit, and having a vision that God is taking our friend to a better hope are things to do, but they are not “techniques.” They are components of good relationships. They are ways we are really with each other, really knowing each other and places that the Spirit can move between and in each of us.
