ACTS keeps us focused on all we can and should understand, expect and share throughout our journey to a greater relationship with God and to do the work He has planned for us. If we exclude Adoration, for example, we may start to forget what an amazing God He is and that could change our relationship with Him. All four prices keep us grounded in honoring Him, thanking Him, receiving grace only He can give and receiving gifts only He can provide. We need all of this to do the work He has planned for us before we were born.

I have been hearing this a lot lately especially in our weekly church sessions. We are missing this a lot. We are not thanking God for his all might and that is the biggest thing when praying to God. The one thing my Pastor keeps telling us is not to always ask God for it but go ahead and thank him for it. The example is to heal my ankle but instead say thank you for healing my ankle. Adoration is appreciating God.

I believe it would make relating to God more and more void. The acrostic is clear that Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication are very important, therefore I agree with it.

ACTS gives us a great model on how to approach God through prayer. There is natural progression that focusses our hearts in the right place – on god and who He is. Confession allows us to be honest about our own brokenness and get back into a right relationship with God through forgiveness. This automatically gives us a heart of thanksgiving. All three of these exercises give us a better place from which to present our own needs and requests to God – with our hearts more in tune with God and His desires to journey with us and help us in our time of need.

These all belong together. If one ingredient is missing, then prayer is not complete. Just like in baking a cake if any of the ingredients are missing the cake would be a disaster. If say adoration were removed from my prayers where would my reverence for God be, there would be none.
