It’s all throughout the Gospels in BOLD Letters. Jesus says, if you do not know God, then you don’t know me. ACTS is being in the relationship as you would be in a real human relationship where you can feel Him moving and speaking through the devotions, in your prayers and in your life.

Adoration – We would take God’s characteristics and goodness for granted

Confession – We would lose sight of the reason Christ died – because we fall short of God’s glorious standard

Thanksgiving – We would forget that the blessings in our lives are from God

Supplication – We wouldn’t be casting off our burdens and laying them at His throne.

It would create disorganized prayer dialogue, in my almost 28 years of my walk with God, I have learned different kind of cultivating in my conversation with God. One biggest thing I have failed in past is to acknowledge God’s glory and give whole glory to God including daily gratitude for everything God did even over little things. It dont matter, we are be thankful toward God. When I changed the way I talk to God, the positive vibe from God began to flow into my heart and gave me sense of peace daily.

I think one thing that gets leftover about Thanksgiving is that the attitude of thanksgiving is important in order to be walking in step with the Spirit. If we are lining in bitterness and resentment, then according to Philippians 4:6-7 and Matthew 5:24, then we are hindering our own prayer life.

I think that if each of the terms were removed from our prayers we wouldn’t have as close a relationship with God. He knows our hearts, but he longs to have a closer relationship with us.
