I don’t think you could describe it as a true devotion if you had one missing element. Each element is crucial to hearing God speak and listening to His instruction. Without Adoration there is no acknowledging His worship, without confession completely wipes out His ability to hear your prayer, without thanksgiving prayer is one way, and without supplication we deny our need of God.

I believe we would miss that close intimate relationship with God that we so desperately need in this world today

If the acrostic ACTS were removed from our devotions and prayer i believe the HOLY SPIRIT teach us these principles so we learn to apply them to our prayer and devotions.

While ACTS and other methods are used to guide prayer, they are not meant to be pretty words to recite in prayer. Thanking God and praising Him are important to help us have a right perspective of God for who He is and all He has done. Without those attributes in prayer, we can become very self-focused.

Adoration: Prayer becomes more about us and our needs…start with God, because everything starts and finds purpose in Him.

Confession: Need that reminder of our failures…makes grace and puts our trust only in Jesus and not ourselves. Only Jesus can save us from our sins…so confess them…He already knows.

Thanksgiving: He deserves our praise and gets the focus back on Him and thankful for Him and all He is doing.

Supplication: Take your heart to God, because He wants to know and our prayers have power and this is a way to show Him needs and get answers to prayer. This is a relationship.
