It would be selfish to leave out the love for our Father. Sure, He would still love us, but adoration brings such a warm feeling into the moment. It puts us in our proper place and welcomes God into the conversation. As a parent, I am more apt to give my kids my attention if they come to me in this way vs. jumping right to the asking phase.

Each are very important. Without Adoration we would not be taking the time to focus on who God is. Without confession we would miss out on the opportunity to communicate our heart ache for the sin in our lives and the ways we have fallen short. Without thanksgiving we would miss the chance to express our joy and understanding of all God has given to us and all God does for us. Without supplication we would not be crying out to God our needs and desires.

Then everything would become about me and not Him, no bueno.

It would give an incomplete request that would feel like you were treating God as a genie in a bottle ready to do what you want, when you want, instead of God of the universe.

Each and every step builds on the last making prayer more personal, like being in a relationship. Removing a step, while not catastrophic, diminishes the the whole and makes the richness of our time with GOD not as fullfilling as it can be
