It shows that God loves us although we are sinful people, He hasn’t given up His people and saved them again and again and corrected their pathway. He chose people to reveal His word and His plan for His people, and that is what the Bible has recorded.

It’s significance is that He has not given up on humanity. He continues to love us, is patient with us and continues to guide us.

Because people are still rebellious today. The Old Testament shows God’s desire to be with his people. Even though people break covenants with God, He still makes a way for people to be in his presence. Through out Old Testament, we see that God blessed obedience and curses disobedience.

This story shows us his mercy and how he is patient with us who sin. He has tremendous patience for the people of Isreal and shows them how to correct their ways so they can be back on the path of righteousness. This is significant because it helps to guide us back on the correct path.
