It is a reminder of the grace of God when we rebel against Him. Knowing when we repent He is quick to forgive.

Because we are separated from God due to our sin and it is important to know that even though we have sinned God has a plan to bridge the gap created by sin and to love us much like he did the people of the Old Testament.

Is important that we understand the old testament, and how it is written so that we can see how God is reaching out in love to his rebellious people. The old testament is important because it God, and all Gods word is important.

It is important because for us to fully understand God, through Jesus, in the New Testament, we must first understand who God is from the beginning, and see examples of how he lovingly dealt with his people then, and how he still lovely and graciously deals with people today.

This shows that our God is wanting to work all things for our good. He desires a relationship with us and will reach to the farthest ends of the world to get us to accept him. As far as the east is from the west, he forgives us. How many people in our lives would constantly forgive our transgressions and abuses towards themselves and still search us out in our darkest places?
