The Old Testament proves that there is nothing we can do to make ourselves whole. Being righteous is impossible. Doing lots of great things can’t grant us Heaven. It’s only His love can do it for us. He who justifies us.

From the Old Testament we learn that God loves everyone, regardless of our sin nature. In the stories of the Old Testament we are able to see glimpses of ourselves, and can be humbled to know that God loves each of us.

It shows that God loves his creation. He loves us even though we rebel against him. He always had a plan to restore the relationship between him and his creation and the Old Testament shows that over and over again.

It’s because God’s character is Love, and because of His great love that we’re not consumed. Amen

God has continually shown mercy and forgiveness to His rebellious and sinful people. It’s significant because He is still doing it today. Just because God is merciful, doesn’t mean we should take advantage of the fact. We need to learn from the Word He has left us to learn from. Or at least try to, for His sake.
