This is significant because, though comprised of 39 books, the Old Testament is also one book with a unified story. It is also significant because it tells us about God who, by nature, is transcendent, i.e. beyond us. If God did not reveal Himself in the Old Testament, we would have no way of knowing Him so clearly and accurately. Finally, it is significant because it assures us that even rebellious people have a chance to come back to God, since God reaches out in love to them.

This is important because God created us in his image and our behavior should reflect his. He wants us to be happy and know that he loves us, he wants us to love him the same way. He is showing and telling us that he love us unconditionally, and he will do anything to help us see his love for us and live according to his commandments. He wants us to stop our rebellion, sinful acts, ask for forgiveness and regardless of our sins he loves us.

Yahweh’s love pursuing buying us back by way of Messiah Jesus through Israel is beautiful and unique in it’s meta-narrative. God’s pursuit of mankind in love is unique of ‘religions’, and ultimately all points to Jesus, and salvation by grace through faith with communion through relationship.

this shows us just how important we actually are to GOD in His love for us and just how patient GOD is willing to be
