It is significant because it’s God wanting a relationship with humans not the other way around. When ever humans wanted to reach out to God it wasn’t what God had in mind it was the thoughts of sinful people who feels that we don’t have to do it God’s way because our own way is good enough.
When God reaches out to us He’s saying I know that you don’t know any better it’s not what you can do but what I will do, not on your own strength and knowledge but my Spirit and Knowledge. This is personal to God and by His example shows us patience love caring concern and comfort. -
The Fall of humankind at hand of Adam and Eve have cause the Spiritual Union between humankind and God which are been violated and broken. So God promised to deliver the plan of salvation which is the sign how much God loved his creation so much and desire to have beautiful loving relationship. God wanted people to see the truth in how God is full of love and remind them this their desire for worldly bring nothing but destruction.
