This is important because we have a nature of rebellion that requires God’s salvation. Reading and studying the history of God’s people shows us how to learn from the previous mistakes of others and how to live in a way that is pleasing to Him.

God is faithful. He is no respecter of persons. What he did for the rebellious people of the Old Testament, he will do for our rebellious generation today. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Oh my, haven’t we all decided at some point in our life, to go off on a course of sin and rebellion for a bit, but oh how wonderful and loving God is to draw us back to Him and thru His Mercy, Love and Grace restores us back to walking righteously before Him and being able to come into His Presence and being covered by the Blood of Jesus to do so. God is so, so good and patient with us all. And for me I am so very grateful for that and for Him

Because we are rebellious people. Gives us understanding that the Old Testament is not just stories about ancient history, it’s a story about us. It’s a story about the true Savior and why all people need Him.

It is significant because it shows that God is not looking for perfection or even conformity.
