This is significant because is shows God’s love and plan for mankind.

It’s very important to me, seeing God work in so many people before He reached out to save a sinner like me. Thanks be to God for reaching out in love to me.

It’s important to know God’s love for us so that we walk in His ways and obey His instructions. We love Him because He first loved us.

It is signficant because we continue to be a rebellious people. Amen we are forgiven through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen that God reaches out to humanity over and over to restore the broken relationship we have created.

It not only shows us his character and how he pursues us (which sets Him apart from world religions), but it lays the foundation for His ultimate plan for us, Jesus. His consistent reaching out in love to a rebellious people is the metanarrative of the Bible, everything points to his pursuit of us, which comes in the fulfillment of OT prophecies when Jesus is sent to save us.
