One of the benefits that would result from learning about the flow of how the Old Testament fits together will be the way in which I read the OT books. Knowing now that chronologically the books do not fit will mean that I will read the book of Job for example along with Genesis. This will help to give greatly detail and match up when people are chronologically placed.

Both testaments of the Bible fit together perfectly. The Old Testament serves as a foundation of the New Testament. The prophecies contained in the OT were all fulfilled in the NT. We must possess a fundamental knowledge of the Old Testament in order to be able to fully understand and appreciate the New Testament. The Old Testament allows us to understand the history of the Jews and gives instruction by which to live our lives that is pleasing to God.
