To begin with a broad scope overview is an effective technique to orient new learners. I think it is a wise scholarly approach.

To help us to be able to share the gospel with others (Jesus came to save sinners), Also, to encourage believers that Christ is still at work in our world and to stay the course!

We will be able to understand each book of the NT better when we read it. Moreover, we will begin to see how, under the hand of God, the books agree, harmonize and complement to give a more complete picture of how Jesus saves the world and what he wants believers to do.

I have read sections and books of the New Testament over the years and at first it all seemed jumbled. As I learned more about the structure of the New Testament I began to understand that it wasn’t just some ‘collection’ of books, but that it was presenting a logical and comprehensive account of likely the most important event on this planet, Jesus’ advent.
Reading things in that context illuminates it much more and provides a much clearer picture to understand how it all fits together.
