My students know that they can ask permission to speak to me privately if they need to talk about something.

I try to show my students every day that I am committed to them. One way I do this is by going to their sports activities outside of school, when my schedule permits. Another way I do this is by getting to know each student individually, and praying with them with every day.

Eating lunch with them and praying for/with them.

I would like to share my devotional readings with my seniors. They are ready for more adult Bible study, if you will, and many say their extracurriculars, sleep, HW, and family time prevent them from attending Sunday school or youth group, where deeper discussions are prevalent in Christian circles. How sad. I could be giving them more, on a level they’re ready for, with discussion about how the Word of God impacts my life and theirs. I’d also like to implement asking them specifically how I can pray for them individually, and then DO IT. I pray over my students often, but my prayers are general. I’m ready to step up to the plate and pray for them as unique individuals.
