I always say good morning to my students every day. Even when they try to sneak past me. I high-five, hug, or fist-bump them. I give them the choice of which one they would like to get.

I currently try to praise my students and celebrate their successes as much as possible. I would love to be able to see more of my student's outside activities like school concerts and sports.

I already make my lunchtime available for any student who wants to come and have lunch with me – not to talk about their grades or their performance but to get to know them better and for them to get to know me.

I would love to implement more after school time to work with students. Most after school interactions with students are because of struggling students or students who didn’t do their homework, so I’d love more of those meetings to be just for fun/extra support. As a junior high and high school teacher, that is difficult because they are more interested in their social lives after school.
