It acknowledges that humans fall short of God’s glory and need redemption.

This argument is the only argument of all worldviews that can explain humanity’s greatness and depravity. Also this argument summarizes the gospel message without necessarily needing to argue the other major arguments (cosmological, designer, moral lawgiver etc.) for the Biblical worldview. For Evangelism this simplified apologetic argument sounds like a great tool to have; but to always be aware that we are just vessels delivering the message and that Holy Spirit does the work in hearts and lives.

Prof. G states that Pascal contrasts other world views by stating they either exalt humans at the expense of their fallen nests, giving an unrealistic heightened picture of humanity; or other worldviews emphasize our wretchedness leaving us without hope. Pascal believes that the Christian world view on the other hand summarized as creation, fall, redemption, restoration, best explains who we are as human beings and gives us hope and encouragement to live with ourselves as deposed kings and queens. He points to that fact that as believers we are reconciled to God, our sins are forgiven and we now have new life in and through Jesus Christ.

It acknowledges what amazing creatures humans are, not because of anything they have done, but because they have been created wonderfully. It also acknowledges that humans fall short of God’s glory and need redemption.

The deposed royalty argument naturally leads to redemption through Jesus Christ. This argument is based on the human condition which may appeal to them more then cosmological, design and moral arguments.
