There’s a tendency in our society to embrace and insist on expressing our “freedom of Christian liberties”. Mainstream American Christianity does not value or prioritize self-denial.

Sin entered the world during the fall, and therefore our hearts are deceitful and full of sin. No matter how much we love God and are in relationship with him, we still are not perfect and make mistakes causing other who witness this to believe that they are seeing someone who is not a Christian.
Also, when some people go through struggles they may believe that God is not helping them, because we cannot see the big picture in the moment and do not understand why these things may be happening to us. We don’t know all of His plans for us. -
They deceive themselves and the truth is not in them. They may have asked Christ not even knowing what they were doing to come into their lives. But there was no surrender no giving up of anything.

People will say they are but don’t act it will be because they feel their wants are not being met, going through a tragedy they thought God could have easily taken care of.

Some Christians compare themselves to other Christians, thinking they are worse than me so I must be ok. Some do not realize that by not letting God have full control over their lives, they are deceiving themselves and still trying to control everything.
