Taking the time to understand the nature and character of God helps us to draw near to Him and strengthen our resolve and determination to continue to engage in our Christian life. Reading about God’s mighty deeds increases our faith that we have hope in a supernatural God. Our reality is amazing and we can experience a powerful, loving God. When we see all of the steps to get to God in the Old Testament, we can better appreciate the work of the cross and our immediate access that we enjoy now. The privilege of prayer, being called His children, teaching from the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts and daily transformation in our lives and those around us makes it worth the time..

The old testament show us how God promised a saviour and fulfilled it in the new testament. It shows us how God let His people and that He always keeps to His word.
